The Circle of Change Leadership Experience is a 501c(3) organization that specializes in creating transformational leadership and career experiences for culturally diverse and first generation students and professionals across the country.
Our award-winning and nationally recognized leadership development conference for culturally diverse and First-Generation students takes place each Fall in Southern California with our First-Generation Student Career Conference taking place in the Spring time down in South Florida.
Mixed in with these two amazing experiences are master-classes, virtual meet-ups with top organizations and companies, a dynamic career resource page, e-learning courses for students and young professionals as well as a virtual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Conference in the Summer for students and young professionals responsible for DEI Initiatives on their respective campuses.

DR. TYSON BEALE, DEAN OF STUDENTS
The COC Leadership Conference made an incredible impact on our students! Conference speakers and session facilitators were thought – provoking, skilled and provided practical strategies and resources for all attendees. Since our initial partnership with Dr. Fredenburg and his team, our students have enthusiastically shared their COC experiences with others and continue to excel on campus.
DAMAREA PARKER, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Circle of Change has impacted thousands of first-generation students around the world, and within my years in higher education at CSUSB, CSULA, SJSU, CSUF, and USC, the students come back transformed and with a new mindset focused on making an impact in their communities.
DR. TRACY PASQUA DEA, SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM STUDENT SERVICES
Circle of Change gave an opportunity for our first gen students to see and hear from leaders who looked like them and had shared experiences as them. COCLC inspired our students that anything is possible and that they have the power within themselves, now, to achieve great things for themselves and for their community to advance positive change.
DR. MARK HARTLEY, DEAN OF STUDENT LIFE
Working at a California Community College, I see first-hand the powerful and life-changing difference Circle of Change makes in the lives of my students…especially first-generation college students. These students return empowered, self-confident, and with a plan of action to achieve their career goals. COC is a difference-maker!
This truly was a life changing experience. I am normally skeptic so I do not say these things lightly. I feel an internal change of heart and it has made me remember how invigorating it is to be positive. I will make sure to spread the word around campus and give this conference the credit it deserves. Thank you so much for loving all of your attendees and meaning it with all your heart. I will make sure not to let you down and be great!
Zynyl Castor, University of District Columbia
Thank you to Circle of Change for reigniting my passions and reminding me what my focus is and why I want to do what I want! This was such a great opportunity! I’m so thankful for these amazing connections I have made! Although some of us will not see each other for a long while, I know we all have impacted one another! I now feel empowered and more open to my goals and dreams.
Kayno Vang, California State University, Monterey Bay
I cannot put into words how much Circle of Change has changed my life. I’ve learned endless knowledge that I probably would’ve never unlocked if it weren’t for this opportunity. I am not only thankful for the speakers, but I am thankful for the fellow students as well!
Anayxia Rodriguez, Northern Virginia Community College
I want to be able to take what I’ve learned here and bring this energy back to campus with me. To: create events that help others find who they are, advocate for those whose voices aren’t heard, and to create a culture centered around community and personal development.
